Customer Satisfaction
As a first tier supplier to automotive and heavy-duty truck companies, we are familiar with meeting customer requirements in the areas of Advanced Quality Planning, Production and Material planning and On-Time Delivery.
Advanced Quality Planning
Koneta, Inc. utilizes a cross-functional team to develop DFMEA, PFMEA, Process Flows, Control Plans, and Work Instructions, Each of the above APQP documents - PFMEA through Work Instructions, is correlated to Process Flow Operation numbers. Koneta's APQP team meets regularly, meetings are documented, and the agenda includes a review of customer requirements, technical specifications, and program status and timeline schedules or deadlines. Customers are welcome to attend these APQP sessions. Koneta management personnel realize the importance of working closely with the customer throughout the planning process.
Production and Material Planning
Koneta, Inc. planners work closely with the customer in establishing inventory minimums. In the planning (DFMEA) process, consideration is given to the customer's quantity requirements and inventory levels. Through daily data collection, Koneta has precise knowledge of production limits and capabilities for each individual mold, and will work with the customer in resolving any limitations.
Contingency Plans
Contingency plans include provisions for natural disasters, union issues, equipment malfunctions, and customer order fluctuations. We have the ability to maintain inventories and ship from offsite locations so that delivery to the customer is not affected.
On-Time Delivery
Koneta, Inc. has an On-Time delivery goal of 100%. Delivery ratings are reviewed frequently, and corrective actions are assigned when this goal is not met.
Electronic Order Capability
Koneta, Inc. is completely EDI capable with both EDIFACT and ANSI x 12 standards. We are running an ERP system from CMS Manufacturing Systems that includes Order Entry and Invoicing, Purchasing, Inventory Management, Material Requirements, Planning, Bill of Material, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and ASN.
Direct Ship
Koneta, Inc. has a UPS and Fed Ex shipping system that allows product shipment direct to the end customer from the order and address information received through our ERP system.
Training
Operators receive many kinds of training. Among the most important is a structured "On the Job" program. In this program, the immediate supervisor is required to monitor and provide an evaluation of the operator's performance. Additionally, when a work instruction is updated, the supervisor is required to review the new requirements with the operator. Records of evaluation and training are forwarded to the Human Resources Department for retention.
Product Quality
Detailed work instructions and quality standards are provided for the operators. Operators working our bedmat presses are required to apply a self-stick "Built With Pride" label to the mat, with the inspecting operator's clock number. Any returned product, whether originating internally or externally, is reviewed with the responsible operator. Through this program, quality has greatly improved.
Warranty / Return Goods Analysis
Products are warranted against manufacturing defects. All returned products are analyzed and the condition reported. If the product is returned due to a manufacturing defect, a corrective action is assigned to the responsible department.
Customer Complaint System
When a complaint is received it is recorded and sent immediately through Koneta's electronic system. All managers are copied on these complaints as well as an extensive list of other recipients. All complaints are investigated promptly. The customer is consulted as necessary and corrective actions are issued for any valid complaint.
Corrective / Preventive Action
An electronic corrective system is in place and as appropriate, is associated electronically with the original complaint. Koneta management takes these very seriously; overdue respondents meet with the General Manager or Director of Operations to explain delays. Corrective actions are reviewed and approved by responsible managers - no corrective action receives approval without a "system" change (i.e. work instructions, control plan update).
Management Review
Management Review meetings are held on a regular basis. All metrics, including customer complaints, internal audits, PPM, delivery ratings, and customer specific requirements, are reviewed, discussed, and action, if necessary, is assigned to the appropriate manager.
